Father in law just had a fit

He put his fist through the flatscreen we gave the parents last Christmas and now they have no television. Watching television is what mostly calms him, so this is not good. My wife is running our 50 inch TV out to them and I’ve ordered a replacement for us later this week. Of course he does this the day AFTER Boxing Week sales end, so that’s some good timing (frig).

Dad needs to be in a home because of his dementia, but nobody puts a senior in a long term care home right now unless you’re trying to kill them.

What a mess.

I’m sorry @shutterbug

That’s terrible,

I’m so sorry.

I feel for you @shutterbug. Dementia is so frustrating. Sending good vibes in your direction.

I’m sorry. That’s so hard to watch and deal with.

I’m so sorry. We’re struggling with trying to get in home care for my grandmother in law right now trying to keep her out of the nursing home. It’s been a big problem.

I actually wish we could help. They live a 3.5 hour drive from us. If they were local we could do more. We’re not even supposed to run a TV out to them as we’re technically breaking the law (visiting family is illegal until at least Jan 12/21), but, eff it. This is kind of an emergency visit to get them going again as they’re both basically senior shut-ins now.

That’s so thoughtful of you. I hope you don’t get caught

The most we’d get would be a warning. Other than some very distanced and careful grocery shopping with masks, we’ve not been around anyone for weeks. We’re not going to infect them. The wife and kid are just going to run in and set up the TV and then flee again in keeping with the spirit of the law.

You can’t reverse dementia with nutrients lol

My Mom couldn’t get around anymore or care for herself because of physical problems with her body. I called my sister who came and put her into a nursing home. My sister had her Power Of Attorney. This was in 2010, and Mom was still pretty much in her right mind at the time. She was later diagnosed with dementia.

TV is delivered, MIL calmed down. Replacement TV ordered. Crisis averted for today. We’ll see what blows up tomorrow.

Very good SIL! Glad you were able to avert crisis!

man, what a crisis…sorry man…

My Mom suffered from Dementia for years until her death last year.
I find your post to be utterly disgusting and false.

Shame on you @naturallycured.

Too much Lawrence Welk will do that to you every time.

He’s stuck in the sixties or seventies. It was anger over no channel change knob.
