Faith in humanity

one of the hardest lessons of mental illness is how it ruins your trust.

I have extreme trust issues.

I’ve never seen someone destroy so many lives as @Azley

He really should be banned for life

Trust issues are not exclusive to people with mental illness.

I’m not paranoid, but people have to earn my trust.

@daze relax with that. what did @azley do?

Honey, right now @sleepybug needs our support. I know you have a lot of understandably hurt feelings, but this isn’t really the way to address them. Remember, you can always choose to just outclass or ignore people.

Sleepybug, I hope you feel better soon!

I’m sorry you’re having trust issues. What gets me is how this illness not only causes trust issues with other people, but sometimes you can’t even trust yourself. Can’t trust your own senses. It sucks.

I have major trust issues as well. I feel very vulnerable all the time. Hard to trust others or myself. I understand.

I don’t trust my self at the moment my self esteem is super less …!!!

I also have trust issues. I mean someone who talks the time to talk to me in the store or even the librarian who starts talking about the weather it seems my mind is running with the same thought “hmmm…what’s in this for you?" Or something along those lines. I try not to be cynical but I don’t even like walking down the street in my quiet little town.

I think it is our own decisions that hurt us the most. I know that in my case that is true. When we get into relationships is when we are the most vulnerable to other people. Of course, if you’re too careful you don’t get into any relationships. I’ve seen enough in my lifetime, though, to know that nothing is quite a bit better than some relationships.

@sleepybug, you trust your boyfriend I assume. You also trust some if not all of your family. I think you’re not doing so bad.

Trust takes time to build.

With me it’s "guilty until proven innocent ". When I was a teenager it was “innocent until proven guilty”.

But relationships and trust take time.
