Your young man. Try working… to me you seem functional enough. But leaving takes a lot of risks… I’m in a similar spot as you… heck you maybe even make more money than me on disability.

I think moving to Scotland would be very difficult. I hear the UK only takes a certain number of immigrants, and they prefer them to be healthy and skilled labour.

Plus I watched a video about modern Scotland and the guy who posted it (who’s Scottish) said a lot of Scots aren’t even familiar with the whole highland culture like a lot of Americans are.

It’s really a different world now.

According to my Ancestry DNA test I’m 41% Scottish.

I’m in that boat. I had a good job so my disability pay is higher than many get. If I could work now I would make less money than I get on disability. If I could work I definitely would though. I had a good work ethic. And I did my job right. I never ever slacked on the job. I don’t believe in that. I mean I wasn’t perfect but…

Wait is your whole family from Scotland?

uh not sure about that, i have a cousin from senegal. most of my family is scottish or irish or a combination of both. i don’t want to move to northern ireland because of “the troubles” i don’t need those kind of hostilities. we’ve been in america 2 or 300 years now. before that scotland and ireland.

yeah his dad said back in africa i would be considered his uncle. he is actually my 2nd cousin i think. my cousin’s son, who married a man from senegal she met. he is quite the soccer player im told, he may get a college scholarship. but he’s tall for a soccer player 6 foot 5. his old basketball coach said he could get a college scholarship to play basketball but he didnt like the coaches or school and quit, he is now in a prestigous catholic school in the city where he plays on the soccer team.

I’d like to visit Canada, i heard the scenery is breath taking and its not too long a flight,

Why not visit first and then you’ll have a better idea if you like it
