I am now on 20mg of Abilify and something that I have noticed for a bit is that I am hot. Like I get hot very easily. This has caused me to just wear t-shirts and jeans and reluctantly take a jacket along in the bitter winter air. Today for most of the morning I was going from building to building on my college campus in nothing but a t-shirt and jeans even though it was in the teens in regard to temperature (f).
I looked up side effects of my new drug and it says that is a side effect that is the inability to have the body cool easily. So my main concern is how can I overcome this side effect. Cause I don’t know what to do.
a lot.
clozipine (too sedating), zyprexa, invega (shot and pills), haldol, sahpris, more that I can’t remember. Currently on seroqul, zyprexa (slowly getting off) and the new one Abilify plus depakote cogentin
I remember being really hot on rexulti, but it doesn’t happen to me on abilify. Maybe it would be a good idea to try a different medication if it really bothers you?
Your pdoc should know about it. Make sure to tell him/her. He/she would know if it’ll pass or if it means you should switch meds. Can you get an appointment?
