Sorry, I got some computer issues all of a sudden. I’m just responding to the replies you made to me and trying to clarify my opinion, since you seem to think I was defending rapists. I’m not, rape is despicable. And what I said is not just a caveat. Men who are raped are a very stigmatized group, and it is important that we treat men and women equally in our legal systems, and also that we don’t treat every man as a potential rapist. I do not think that talking about these issues trivializes the situation of the extremely many women who have been raped. We should be able to talk about all the different aspects of rape, and doing so isn’t about deflecting attention away from the female victims.

What do you mean by this? Is it right?
I’ve only ever known two women who were raped (forced into sexual intercourse). I don’t think I’ve ever met a woman who wasn’t the recipient of some sort of unwanted sexual contact or coercion at some point. There are a lot of mouth breathing, knuckle dragging males who think this is A-OK. I think these dudebros would make great mulch for my garden.
Edit: Possible that I know women who have been raped but have not disclosed it – certainly not something many women choose to share or can share about.

There’s a lot of movements in all countries to avoid rape and a lot of people are becoming aware that it is a real issue.
I regret not doing anything against the person that raped me. I was a mess at the time and thought it was okay for him to do that, but it isn’t.

on the subject of men getting raped, I know six guys who have been through it who were told by police to ‘get over it and think themselves lucky’
They went to a party at a sorority the girls drugged all the guys and all the guys woke up with no memory of what happened but a number of them ended up with STIs that were traced to girls in the sisterhood. One guy actually got hospitalized after because he was sodomized with a homemade sex toy…These were guys in my dorm complex when I was in college.
