“If you work at least you will be able to pay for your medicine.” (It was a long time ago and I didn’t ask it but i wanted to say “What else can I do with the money?”) I no longer want to advocate saying that we all should work because I recognize that’s nearly impossible for me now and I don’t want to be a hypocrite anymore. But I still admire those who do.

Before I had sz my paycheck went about 90% toward meds and doctor’s visits. After I got sz I couldn’t afford to take care of my physical health anymore because mental health was more important and I couldn’t afford both.
No, thank goodness I never had a pdoc tell me that.
