rebalances dopamine indirectly

From your link:

Presynaptic expression of the M4 receptor subtypes balances acetylcholine and dopamine in the striatum

I like this, I also read that positive symptoms are caused by high dopamine in dorsal striatum. This is good as its specific target without blocking dopamine in the whole brain which worsens negative and cognitive symptoms. I read that negative and cognitive symptoms are caused by low dopamine and dopamine blockage by full antagonists like my risperidone in the frontal lobes, prefrontal cortex more precisely.

Yeah, i think youre right.

The acetylcholine is whats low in our brain, especially in that region you mention. If they raise it. It may tackle a lot of issues we have including avolition which i suspect is caused my meds and not neccessarily sz

Weird I can’t type full phrases it breaks them into smaller text, I know that some APs like Clozapine block acetylcholine and are bad for cognition. I take Huperzina A it increases ACh and I feel better on it.

Edit: I refreshed the page its fixed now

I wonder which APs increase ACh.

Really? I always thought clozapine, increased ACh

Maybe it has multiple mechanisms as I read it blocks some of the ACh receptors, there are many. Benztropine and other movement medications block ACh receptors to stop movements problems. Clozapine has the least risk for movement problems.

Btw Clozapine acts on M4 muscarinic receptors and research says its why its so effective.

I see, im not well versed in this aspect of science so i dont really know. But i hope this works man, i cant wait to go back to normal!!!

Oh yeah, it does say that it is anti ACh. Maybe its bad journalism? Because it’s a reference to studies and not the study itself

Youre right. How confusing

Studies contradict each other sometimes. Some say Clozapine increase dementia risk as its anticholinergic while others say it improve cognition. I asked my pdoc for clozapine he said it won’t help me and i dont need it

Have you tried supplment “alpha-GPC”, it increases ACh? I might try it

I have some but stopped taking it as I take Huperzine A and they work the same way by increasing ACh. I find Huperzine A stronger.
