She’s obviously a good prognosis case despite the initial assessment ,with minimal cognitive and negative symptoms,

Yeah she seems to have minimal cognitive and negative symptoms but I still admire her.
She is a fighter.

I had serious negative and moderate cognitive symptoms. They got better. They sometimes can get better.

Fair enough , but it’s the luck of the draw whether they do . She’s done well but we shouldn’t be dishonest enough to dismiss the fact she’s been rather fortunate. At the end of the day she’s had more tools in her tool bag than most of us .

She sort of alluded to the fact that most people won’t be on the high end of the financial success scale when she noted that there are only a couple who have made it to that level. And compared to those with bipolar, the amount of people on the high end of society with schizophrenia is much lower.

Yes, I agree with you. I also didn’t watch the video so I’m not trying to defend anything in the video.

I think the risk is people comparing themselves to her and getting disillusioned/frustrated because they don’t match up. It’s a case of balancing positivism with realism. For most of us the steps may be smaller but they’re still giant steps for us.

Create your ultimate goal. And finish this.

i know what you are saying and i agree with you but i think she still inspires people and its good for the fight against stigma,

she is a person with sz who has done really well despite everything and who cares if she has had to pay for therapy and all of that, i’d probably do the exact same thing if i was her lol

She’s inspiring, but I’d like to see other high-functioning people with schizophrenia, especially men.

Also, I find it refreshing that she has a PhD in Psychoanalysis.

I would also like to see that more. Women usually have a better prognosis for mental illness.
