Will be interesting to see whether their user and privacy policies will change or stay the same.

…Also curious as to which way the Banhammer will swing from here on out :hammer_and_pick:.

I can’t care less about twitter. Nice someone looks after it.

Twitter is a cesspool. I don’t think Musk will improve it any.

I’m not even on facebook. I have no interest in Twitter, and I’m not Musk’s biggest fan.

Im pretty happy that we will be able to say stuff on twitter without being banned for it. I understand if people are making threats or calls of violence etc, but it was going way too far with tiny and sometimes factual things being deemed offensive enough for a suspension.

I like Twitter, hes very cute :blush::blush:

Edit. Tweetie Bird.

Twitter seems to be the place for people who want to hurt other people. It’s gross.

Agreed.

On the one hand, social media (Twitter included) is a scourge upon the Earth.

On the other hand, when people start spouting ignorant shiit, it also helps you know who all the assh0les are :innocent: .

I was on there for maybe two months, and just didn’t get it at all.

My preference is forums and YouTube

I had an account at Twitter. Abandoned it today for obvious reasons. Moved to counter.social, which turns out to be a friendly and polite community.

He should change his name to Nylon

44billion? Yikes! That’s a lot!

Bluesky by the founder of Twitter might be another option soon.

I couldn’t believe he paid so much for it. But technically speaking these days twitter is like the meta news website in a way. So in a way he’s getting a conglomerate news website, one of the most powerful in the world, and with his celebrity status I’m sure he’ll be the most popular on there as the owner, bringing even more fame and power to himself.

He now has essentially free worldwide advertising for life and the ability to highlight story’s that priase his ventures and shadow ban stories that support his competition.

Just my 2 cents.

Tl;dr

He just bought himself a news outlet

But if he gets in the way of free press and everyone jumps ship onto a new platform he’s gonna be out a lot of money lol
