Has anyone had a strong electrical feeling in their brain from an AP or SSRI?
Once, during the beginning of a psychotic break, I had the sensation of āāelectrical connectionsāā in my head.
Yes kind of feels like that, or my brain being plugged into an electrical outlet. Real strong right now.
Yes from quitting them or being off of them even for a couple of days. I take cymbalta itās an SNRI.
I dealt with this off and on for like 4 years . For some reason it stopped lately
From quitting them, yes. I did not know what it was at the time and I was psychotic, so I will let your mind run wild with what I thought it was at the time.
Iām glad it stopped for you. This is driving me a little bit bonkers. It seems to come and go.
What a tease! You got the cheese dangling on a string right in front of me
Yes i got the brain zaps when i quit my ad cold turkey. They lasted about a month not very nice.
Sounding like I need an Ap dose increase for the remedy. Thought it was the meds themselves doing it.
I got ābrain zapsā when tapering off of Lexapro.
It is a known withdrawal symptom.
Thatās a big one to know, thanks @NinjaComet !
Brain zaps is definitely the right words for it
Or your pdoc might be able to split you into two doses. Morning and night. That is what mine did.
I had brain pain which was like some kind of wrong chemical reaction happening in brain and medication for some reason did not alleviate though tried different cocktails of meds. Now I donāt have brain pain and also no medications. But I know the triggers and aware of it to be protective of myself.
I think the brain zaps are harmless but they suck. I think my zaps got worse the more stressed I was. I can remember not having them on the better days
That makes sense. Everything seems to get worse with stress. Iāll have to pay closer attention to stress under the surface.
For me, it would occur when I blinked. Not sure why. I was on 60 mg geodon at night. My doc split it into 20 mg in the morning and 40 mg at night. That fixed the issue.
I wonder if what Iām feeling is different. It feels like a constant electrical current. Changes in intensity and amount of pressure.
