Eating healthier and its effects

I have been hearing a lot on YouTube about low carb, high protein diets and how they seem to be beneficial for mental illnesses of all stripes. I myself cannot personally abide by low carb, high protein regimens. So, I’m following my own protocol of a regular diet with low sugar. I basically allow myself a spoon of sugar on cereal in am and a spoon of sugar at noon on plain greek yogurt and that is all. No sweets other than that. Instead of cookies and candy and the like, I eat fruit and drink coffee and water. And the results are great! After four days, I no
longer have sugar cravings and I am losing weight! And for some odd reason, the voices have stopped. Could be due to the fact that I’m sleeping so much better now.

That is great news! Keep up the good work. I also discovered that sugar cravings stopped when I drastically reduced it from my diet.

I think it also matters not just how much sugar you have in a day, but how much you have at one time.

I can hold my breath for one minute, 20 times a day and be fine. But if I hold my breath for 20 minutes all at once I’m a goner lol

So a little bit of sugar is okay, but a heap of sugar all at once will send you way up then way down.

A little turbulence the whole plane ride is okay, but one huge tornado for 5 minutes will cause a crash.

I think you are right. And the amount of sugar that each of us can handle at any given time will be different for each of us.

When I’ve got a large sugar intake over one week I can feel it in my knees, they’re aching whilst riding the bike.

Arthritis ?

Fruit still contains sugar, although if it is fructose it has a lower glycemic index due to the fiber from the fruit (I think)

I’m already unstable but when I get too much sugar I feel out of control… sometimes. I just bought like 50 mini candy bars tho

yes thats true, but dont forget, that what alof of people in the world eat, like rice, especialy white rice, and sweet potatoes, and normal potatoes. Its very high on the glycemic index, causing a major spike (even higher then regular sugar). If you want tricks & tips follow Glucose Goddess on youtube.

For example I now first eat my veggies, and then protein, fats, and as last carbs.
