I only had that happen once in my life and I’ve seen two tornadoes fun fact one time I was fishing in a tornado we were in a good spot luckily the tornado was going the other way so we decided to keep fishing me and my dad did it

I don’t know which is more scary, earthquakes with a rolling/rippling motion or earthquakes with an abrupt hard jolt. The last two earthquakes I felt were the abrupt hard jolt variety.

depends where you are for sure. what kind of building. lower level higher level. it feels different.
but the ones that rumble for 15 seconds are more are the scariest. the longer the quake the more things fall down shelves mostly and then cracks in the walls.

That’s true. The longer the quake, the more likely I am to consider running out of the house. But the quakes Ive felt are typically shorter than the time it would take me to get off the sofa.

yeah most quakes are quick a few seconds.
growing up here, earthquakes never were scary til the northridge quake in 94’
We were in an apartment in 1994 northridge quake and it was 20 seconds but felt like 2 minutes. it was the first time i saw things fall and damage and then a black out.
felt like the end of the world when it stopped shaking cause the lights all went out looking out.

i was 17 i didnt have them yet.
but everyone immediately filled the streets and it was pitch black, cars stopped driving.
very apocolyptic.

I’ve probably been in an earthquake and didn’t notice it. I’m in Texas so…when I was eleven years old, I experienced a tornado outbreak in the country. The meteorologist did know about it. I’ve looked at records of our tornadoes they did not know it. It was scary as hell. They hid behind trees and then came the hail. I hopped up on gym stairs looked out window saw a small tornado twisting along.
