Dystonia or Dyskinesia?

Does anyone know of the difference between these two things? My left hand cramps in a twisting motion and I always thought it was TD but now doing more research it makes more sense that it might be Dystonia. Can medications cause Dystonia? My facial movements are also partially paralyzed and my voice is slurred. My friend told me today that she had always thought I had Bell’s Palsy like in a mild way. Here’s a picture of my smile, and a picture of my hand. I want to be able to ask my doctor some questions so I’m trying to do some research.

Sorry mods for making two similar posts. Feel free to shut down my first thread about TD

Watch this short video till the end and you can really see my hand “out in the wild”

i dont wanna annoy u with my comments on this but my aunt has tardive dyskinesia so i kinda know what that looks like. i think the hand could be dystonia if its like a tight cramp like the muscles locking up. your face idk. your face honestly looks pretty normal to me in that picture. it looks a bit assymetrical which can happen from things like chewing unevenly. dyskinesia is constant movement (my aunt got it from haldol and her mouth is constantly moving like if she is chewing something) and dystonia is the muscles locking up. might wanna see a neurologist. the face thing might not be related at all to the medicine.

No I appreciate any and all input. I am going crazy. As far as TD goes my tongue makes clicking noises on it’s own and my tongue constantly used to protrude from my mouth and make it look like I was constantly licking my lips. Those symptoms have gotten better since starting Ingrezza. But the asymmetric smile was not something I have delt with forever. It’s only started doing that in the past few years. My hand yes it feels like my muscles lock up into that postion

Everything that I’m experiencing seems to be a side effect of Loxapine.

I had a kind of similar episode this year. My partner said I looked like I had bells palsy too. I think mind was related to my FND but I’m sure it could be medication induced too. The facial thing might be dystonia as well

Interesting. See it’s not an episode for me though, it’s everyday for the past several years
