Ive got dyskinesia in both of my arms its really annoying. Im taking ingrezza and it helps but its still pretty bad. Is there any other medication that may work better?
Corian I’m very sorry for you that you’ve got that problem. Did you get that from one of the atypical antipsychotics eg. Zyprexa Abilify or.Latuda.
From Google
Interventions of Interest:
Valbenazine (Ingrezza®, Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc)
Deutetrabenazine (Austedo®, Teva)
Tetrabenazine (Xenazine®, Ovation Pharmaceuticals)
Also vitamin b6 might help: Click the link to see the research.
I appreciate it. Originally from invega but its continued on caplyta
Thanks for the help!
I’m very sorry that Invega caused that problem. When I look back I recall thst I had simulary problem 27 years ago whrn I was on ridperidone.
Some studies suggest that supplementing high dose vitamin E can ameliorate Dyskinea.
TD can be permanent in some cases and or only partially resolve. Are you currently on a first gen antipsychotic?
I got mine from abilify it really sucks I was told it will get better and I hope my pdoc is right best of luck I know what you’re going through and I’m sorry hang in there
I have TD from Loxapine. A mix of Ingrezza and Benztropine have really helped my symptoms
I got it originally from invega, im now on caplyta but it persists
Im on both of those medications too and compared to how it got before they really help me too, but i still find myself shaking all day just to a much less degree
How well controlled are your symptoms on capylta? Do you still experience voice or delusions?
Really enjoy the fewer side effects on caplyta. Ive lost 30lbs and sexual side effects from invega are gone. I still have voices but very few pretty much i start to think oh my voices are gone and they chime in and say that they arent ever going away and if i drive over a bridge it will tell me to drive off it and makes claims that they could make me if they wanted to but overall much less voices.
BCAAs, B6 and Vitamin E should mostly be harmless so I would try those and see if they make any difference at all
“off-label” use as a TD treatment. These medications include:
amantadine
clonazepam
propranolol
tetrabenazine
I do sympathise with you having TD must be incredibly uncomfortable and emotionally distressing. This is no good answer for this unfortunately. You are going to have to explore your therapeutic options with your doctor.
