I have a recurring dream (about 15 times) that I am lost, sometimes far from home. The dreams awaken me and I am a little upset, but I tell myself, “It is just a dream,” and I ignore them.
The dreams are getting worse as I am getting more lost, further from home and with no hope of finding my way. Sometimes I am travelling in a bus or car and going nowhere. In tonight’s dream I said, “I don’t know where I am going.”
My schizophrenia is getting much better but I am now thinking that I don’t have direction in life. I am 67 years old and I don’t know what I am doing the rest of my life.
Five other people in the forum have reported dreams of getting lost over the years (2014 to 2018).
I’m sorry your dream upset you. As for what you are doing for the rest of your life, well you have made it this far and I think that deserves you being able to do precisely whatever you want.
Do you want to sit around with friends and play cards? Do it. Do you want to volunteer at the hospital gift shop? Do it. Do you want to take an art class at the community college? Do it. There are so many choices and you are free to decide.
Also, if you want to rest and do nothing, there’s not one thing wrong with that.
