im on 200mg of clozapine and 10mg of abifily.i think but am not sure that this is a reasonably low level to take.does anyone know?also am thinking of asking the doc if I could lower my abifily in the new year but if im on lowish dose maybe I wont bother…
I take 20 MG of abilify per day so yeah your abilify dose is low, not high. But clozaril…200 mg seems kind of high. I remember not being able to handle a 200 mg dose of clozaril…made me too sleepy and hungry. everyones different I guess though. I’ve seen people on 400 mg of clozaril, but not permanently…only for a short time. 200 mg is reasonable i guess for some.

I dont know about the Clozapine, but the Abilify dose of 10 mg is on the low side - I was on 27 mg of Abilify at one point
I’m on Abilify 20mg and Clozaril 200 mg been on this regimen for 6 years.
It’s always best to be on as little medication as you need to control your symptoms to an reasonable extent. If you think you’re on too much medication then talk to your doctor.

50mg Clozapine at bed time. No symptoms.
25mg becomes hard for me.
On 325 clozaril 200 at night sleep well
Still get breakthrough crap symptoms but good in some ways
I think the therapeutic dose (the beneficial norm) for Clozapine is 450 but it’s been awhile since I looked that up. My son has been as low as 100 and as high as 450.
in the uk the optimum dose of clozapine is the lowest therapeutic dose possible which is between 100-150mgs. my shrink said if that didn’t work then a higher dose would have no further beneficial effects at all so is a pointless exercise. if i were ever to try clozapine then i definitely mix it with abilify to keep the weight down and reduce the sleepiness and drooling. bit scared to take it though to be honest. i don’t want to be a zombie, for sure. it’s a last resort for me. i’ll try everything else first then clozapine. if nothing works i’ll either come off meds completely or pick the best of a bad bunch.
