Clozapine users

Should I try to increase my clozapine dose and change Abilify injection interval to every 4 weeks instead of 3? With doctor’s approval of course

What’s your dose for clozapine?

It’s only 25mg which is really low dose

I take 400mg a day. It helps a bit but not nearly enough. I don’t want to take it anymore.

I think you should increase the Clozapine if you have a lot of positives positives. My mum is hospitalized at the mental hospital where they switched her from Clopixol to Zyprexa because she couldn’t tolerate Clopixol any more. She is really unwell on the 15 mg Zyprexa. I really hope they place her on Clozapine because that’s the only one that works when no options are left.

I don’t rly have positives anymore besides the occasional mild paranoia so idk what should I do

clozapine is more effectivve for positive symptoms but carries more side effects while ablify is less effective for positive symptoms and carries less side effects

You should stick to what you’re on now, because right now you’re stable. Don’t change anything!

Ok won’t change anything.

yea if you are stable then leave your meds as they are for sure.

Its best to ignore little bit of positive symptoms. The reason is once you up the dose its hard to go back to lower dose. And when you try to go back positive symptoms will be much worse compared to the ones you got while on lower dose.

Some people still get occasional positive symptoms even on high dose. Anyway if its bothering you or unable to control then inform your pdoc.
