Idk if its just me but i was told there was always something wrong with the dopamine in my brain and that there was an imbalance, this has been said to have a negative impact on my brain, I was told my meds were given to me to correct this imbalance, I think the thought about schiz just being a chemical imbalance is evolving among academics, i wanted to share a video here about how to boost the Good Dopamine, so here it is.
I don’t think the chemical imbalance theory is correct. It’s a lie for big pharma to profit off of.
I hear you, and i am with you on this,
When i say the academic theory about this is evolving i mean i was told by my p/doc that there is other thinking on this away from it just being a chemical imbalance.
I am glad this is happening bc i am with you and i also think it is an easy way to describe something that is a lot more complicated and make it sound like it can be treated by certain drugs.
I’m not saying that there isnt an imbalance and that the drugs dont work bc there is and the drugs can help but to say that its the reason is not correct.
Something causes this, if you watch the video it says that there are ways to boost or happy chemicals & i think this is key, something in our brain is stopping thee happy chemicals from making us feel joy.
There is a lot to i than just an imbalance, things like our lifestyle, environment, our filter, unbringing etc all comes into play, i think its an easy way out to say its just our dna or its just an imbalance. its an easy way to dismiss a lot of the other underlying issues that could be at fault.
Thats so true, other things causing it could be vitamin deficiencies, allergies, brain inflammation, gut dybiosis, toxoplasmosis gondii, auto immune disorder… thanks for reminding me. Gotta eat healthy!
I think when they diagnose you though they need to rule out other things to a certain degree, idk what they do to check a person over like that, i know I’ve had blood tests and in the very early stages i had an mri of my brain, i was told o check for tumours and ■■■■.
Yeah most places wouldnt bother, big pharma really calls the shots in Drs training. I was offered an MRI but i declined thinking they were gonna scan my thoughts. You can do your research and rule out certain things and do tests. Greenmedinfo is a good place to learn what psychosis is linked to and pubmed. Also a book by Dr Julia Rucklidge about mh and nutrition called ’ the better brain’ is really good
I just know that if anything else is suspected then they need to rule it out (over her anyway) maybe bc my illness came on what looked like suddenly, they may have had more reason to suspect a tumour due to a sudden change in my behaviour. truth is i had been ill for a long time and kept it to myself.
True… i think here you kinda gotta advocate and research for yourself. Good luck getting to the bottom of it.
Depends where the dopamine is and how much.
I mean blood in your veins is good, blood in your piss is bad.
Moderate amount of dopamine in some parts of the brain is good. Too much in the wrong places is bad.
Yep, & you want to regulate the dopamine properly somehow, i think the filter in our brain that regulates thoughts and moods etc determines where the dopamine goes or doesnt go and how much or how little,
I’d say the gate keeper filter is what is supposed to keep the balance of dopamine in the head but even before the thoughts get to the filter I think they are spiritual in nature but some things are good & some are bad, sneaky bad thoughts get through if the filter is not working properly as well.
This is not a professional view point by any means, just my opinion.
If I am happy all the time I won’t feel happy anymore IMO
No-one can be happy all the time, its impossible, maybe if you are content enough you may have a less shitty life but its all about balance, less shitty thoughts & feelings and more of the good positive stuff that will fill the pleasure centres of the brain.
Meaningful activity is an excellent strategy for diverting negs and being more content which may lead to feelings of joy, having a good structure to a day and good content to take the mind down a good path is ideal for a good recovery.
I’d say meaningful activity would boost the feel good dopamine and get them to the right places instead of suffering shitty symptoms and being stuck in the moment symptomatic.
It needs a lot of patience & a good med and it can be difficult with lack of drive but maybe slowly build up your positive stuff around you, could be as simple as a nice picture on the wall you will see every morning that cheers you up.
