Having a spiky cognitive profile makes me quite insecure as to the whole question of cognitive functioning .
Having said that I canā€™t say,for certain, the Aspergerā€™s and sz-a have made it worse, or for that matter the medication Iā€™ve had over the years .

At my age age is more likely to be a factor when it comes to cognitive decline .

Unfortunately there are no medicine to stop the cognitive decline.

It gets worse then it gets better and worse its not very consistently worse nor better

Does it stop getting worse at some point?

My current diagnosis is bipolar 1 with psychosis sorry I should have made that clearer

#cognitive Having a spiky cognitive profile and a mega dose of insecurity means Iā€™m constantly worrying that Iā€™m a few letters short of an alphabet .

I know you have the illness for many many years, can you still function fine with cognitive decline? Your posts make sense, obviously you can think clearly.

I think any decline is the decline most people would experience as they get older, i.e itā€™s not abnormal . As for functioning - I think I have the problem that a lot of people on the autism spectrum have i.e adaptive functioning that lags behind the level of intelligence . I am not all good when it comes to practical tasks . I was the same even when younger .

Last pdf describes adaptive functioning .

A low thyroid level can drastically worsen cognitive ability so make sure your thyroid level is optimal. Same with vitamin D and B12.

Daily Omega 3 is useful for cognition.
