Does the world owe us?

I don’t like to think that way. I feel like if anyone gives you anything it is a gift and to not be taken for granted. Everyone in life has their struggles and for plenty of people just taking care of them self is hard enough without having to take care of anyone else on top of that. Sure it’s easier for some than others, but I don’t think that anyone owes me anything. It would be nice if everyone was more kind and compassionate and while I think that people should in general be more civil towards each other I accept the reality that even civility can’t be taken for granted. It is unfortunate that more isn’t done to help those that can’t help themselves but I see it as a gift not an obligation.

Something I’ve noticed . bipolar gets talked about a lot. I never hear about sz. Tv is shite anyway.

We definitely deserve to be treated without prejudice. Call it a fair shake. I think it’s only decent that a society that can care for people with any disability, does, in terms of help.

I think awareness can backfire as well. When people treat me like glass it makes me feel like subhuman, like I’m their pet with no agency of my own. Respect is a doubled edged sword.

Sometimes respect can hurt, but when words people give us are kind in intent and not meant to mock or harrass, it’s obvious. Some people don’t know where the line is, or delight in crossing it and then calling foul when we get upset.

I feel like the world has enough resources that it can spare us a modest existence. I remember this guy in the downtown Tulsa YMCA who was bemoaning “people who think the world owes them something”. He was trying to set up drug connections so he could make a ton of money. Working for $7.00 an hour wasn’t for him. I can’t help but wonder if this guy was talking about people who object when someone plays their music at ear splitting levels at eleven o’clock at night. I feel like the world does owe you enough peace to not have to suffer this. Like they say, when you point your finger at someone, there are four fingers pointing back.

The world doesn’t owe anyone anything. Survival of the fittest is nature’s way of replenishment.

I don’t think we deserve an entitlement, we’re just lucky we live in a day and age where we are able to get it.

I think some miscommunication occurred with my post. The word entitled has been corrupted by some in the world to mean benefits or better access to mental health care.

My question said “anything” but I mainly meant respect and consideration instead of demonation.

Where does “survival of the sickest” stand :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Not sure. Society and civilization might owe us something but the world has enough natural resources for all of us.
