Do u want to give it a try…!!! But be careful…!!
Was thinking of maybe giving a try.mystate of mind can, not so much mood, can flip around quite quickly so was wondering if it would help.
Was wondering if it would help negative symptoms too?
I just started lithium on a very small dose 600 mg a day and havent noticed anything. There seems to be a dearth of information on how lithium affects a person or maybe the type of information is so wide spread.
I was put on it two weeks ago for being suicidal and for cutting. It has made me feel better overall, or at least made it so I don’t feel like hurting myself anymore.
What’s your dose?
I’m sorry, but I don’t know. My husband has to dose out my meds for me, so I don’t have access to them. He is working right now, so I can’t ask him to check.
I’m on 1000mg and I feel something.
It helps with suicidal thoughts and might actually help my negative symptoms a little.
I used to take lithium, years ago, don’t remember how much I took. For me, it primarily blocked the manic/hypomanic stuff, didn’t seem to help that much with my depression, but then my depression has always been very stubborn to treat. I had to have two antidepressants on top of the lithium (and an AP).
Lithium NEVER helped me any.
I take lithium for hypomania and it helps some with other negative emotions. I take 900 a day
For those of y’all on lithium, how long have you been on it? I understand that it can cause problems with your kidneys. I just started it about two weeks ago, and I’m a little bit concerned about that because I take a ton of meds for psych and other issues.
I’ve been on lithium for 3 years it helps quite a bit.
Lithium is a safe drug it’s been around for ages with good results. I’ve been on it for awhile now. Really helps
I take lithium, I have schizoaffective with rapid cycling mood swings, lithium has helped me no end with the mood problems. I take a low dose of antidepressant as well, and yes the combo does give me more of a feeling of wellbeing. It would certainly be worth talking to your psych about it, it’s a really good drug for me.
I only ever felt good for the first week taking it. After that I never noticed anything. I’m not on it anymore, though.
