Can they read? Will they read? (Forget about this if they can’t or won’t.)
If you’re parents are as bottled up as you seem to suggest, how in the h##l did you get into med school?
Hmm. Maybe a book for you to browse through?

Thanks! they aren’t really bottled up,they are quite knowledgeable but have a weird way of looking at things!n with med school I was just studying like a hobby but always seemed to pass with no difficulty, but when I was diagnosed my cognition (memory mostly) became a problem! I will check out the link u sent n send it to my parents

To answer the question, how many shrinks does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
Just one, but the lightbulb must be willing to change.
This is 50% you and 50% professional help. Make sure both sides are giving all that they’ve got.
And schizophrenia can completely ruin your life, don’t hope for a better life, go get one.
I’m not going to sugar coat this nightmare and pretend that it’s all going to be okay without hard work.
Recovering from this ■■■■■■■■ is the hardest thing you will ever do, I don’t care what you’ve done in the past because this isn’t the same world that your past happened in.
To get back to where you were before the illness is not a joke, and you said you were in med school?
But if you make it, you will beat all odds. A small fraction of us truly recover and function like we used to, and in that 50% that’s all you, half of it is luck.
And the higher the height you reach, the harder you fall, and it’s a slippery slope.
I’ve been through enough of this crap without stopping functioning to be able to state these things.
I don’t mean to be pessimistic, no, I am being realistic. You’ve been psychotic since 2012? Same here. It’s been hell and I will never be the same.
This takes extreme willpower and extreme mental force. Fortunately, I am an extreme person. Unless you really know that you are capable of doing whatever you consider “getting better”, it probably won’t happen. It’s like visualizing a lift before you do it. One must know that they have the strength to do it or it will not happen. There is a difference between thinking and knowing.
People will treat you like you are retarded. People will stereotype you. People will discriminate against you. People will try to take advantage of you. People will try to shoot you down, they will get jealous of you and want to see you fall.
I’m saying this because you said you want to become a doctor. Well so do I.
@mortimermouse Thanks for the wise words! I will fight this illness n do my best! I fight it with all I have
