Does it ever go away?

Even after much improvement after adding abilify I still hear voices, experience paranoia and every now then I see things. I just dont think I can take, " it doesnt always go away completely" or " it’s not a cure all" well ■■■■! Find something that is! Sorry just frustrated

Most of my days I have very few, if any, positive symptoms. Sometimes I’ll get periods where I’m more symptomatic, but it’s pretty rare anymore. Much less often now than when I was on haldol. And the haldol was like a miracle after all the ■■■■■■■■ atypical meds I tried that didn’t do anything but make me fat.

Have you tried perphenazine?

I don’t understand why voices stick around when paranoia left a long time ago. I agree it should be easier to find medicine that works.

Stress is a big factor for me. Our dryer quit working I got invited to a group activity next tuesday I can afford only ten dollars for the orchard and lunch. I might not be able to go. I got a new case manager only met her twice. In laws are on my ass constantly or at least seems that way.

My pdoc said she wants to do a gene test to find a better med but is impressed with how well I’m doing with just fewer symptoms.

@agent101g I think mother just wants to make some suffer even with somethings helped by medication and others like leap frogged over.

Some symptoms never quite go away. They may however disappear for a few months. That being said, you can learn to live with symptoms and have better experience in how to deal with them. Coping skills such as meditation, listening to music, and such can greatly benefit sufferers of a mental illness.

Sometimes the way I like to think about it is that the first year of diagnosis is like level one of a video game character. The first 10 levels are sometimes more difficult, one is still figuring out how it all works, then pretty soon you’ll be strong enough to realize that you’ve come a long way since level one.

What dose of abilify are you on ? Things got a bit easier for me when I increased my dose to 15mg from 10mg.

Have you tried Amyloban 3399? It in conjunction with Geodon has removed all of my positive symptoms and helped reduce negative symptoms. It’s like I don’t have SZ right now and that’s after a quarter century of always having some symptoms. It and sarcosine are my miracle supplements.
