Does anyone invest?

I was thinking about investing some money in the stock market or something like trading or something idk,

I saw this ad for bitcoin and its got me thinking about it  i don’t want to get scammed though and that could be a huge risk, i don’t want to give out my bank details either.

I do a little bit of play with the stock exchange at the clubhouse sometimes but its not real, its pretend money on the trading floor, its a group.

I put each day’s change into a piggy bank! That’s the only investing I can afford. It pays back about $20 at the end of the month!

I have a fiduciary invest my money for me. He went to college and knows how to play the market. It is much less stress.

I used to have a self-directed trading account when I was in my early 20s. You have to have at least $100,000 to be able to buy good stocks. With $10,000 you can’t buy any decent stocks at all. Also stock traders buy 1,000s of shares instead of 100 or any less than 1,000.

I’ve never purchased a mutual fund, derivative or bond.

A monkey throwing darts at a wall has a better chance of picking stocks than a person. It’s called randomness.

Better go with proven methods any day.

Didn’t you say you took an investing course? I would think that financial analysts have a better perspective on picking good stocks.

My friend told me that. I studied investments from a hedge fund manager. For most people, who don’t have lots of money, a low fee, non managed mutual fund is best. If you have more money, go with an ETF. He basically showed us the proven way to become millionaires. Unfortunately, I have zero money or a job.

Picking stocks is tricky. They proved that the best performing mutual funds of a given year, tend to under perform the next year.

Yeah, who would have known that AAPL @ $4/share in 2003 would be @ $180/share in 2018. The same goes with GOOG & AMZN.

yeah, i’d like to invest some money, there was a post on Facebook about bitcoins and how to make loads of money but i just don’t trust it so i’m looking for trusted recognised sources that i can look at,

at the clubhouse in the trading floor group, we look at the stocks from a broadsheet, we get the figures and put them in to a spreadsheet and do the maths (idk how they do it) they made some gains but it was all purely hypothetical,

made me want to invest maybe, i need to do some research

I don’t think US citizens can invest social security income… it’s illegal.

Bitcoin is a get rich quick scheme if you know how to time yourself to get in and get out. I wouldn’t trust investing in Bitcoin either since most investors usually get their return in the long-term.

I’d say choose an online brokerage first and do research using the tools they offer as the free market quotes on websites like www.marketwatch.com does not have enough information to make a good investing decision.
