My primary care provider won’t prescribe Caplyta and buspirone for me. I’m thinking of switching to a different primary care doctor and see if they will do that. I think it’s going to be hard and tricky to do because of my diagnosis (schizoaffective disorder, depressive type). I think that type of doctor is used to prescribing medication for anxiety and/or depression only.
Anyway, do you have a primary care provider who will prescribe your medication? Can you tell me about that?
Mine will because I am very stable and my pdoc is hard to get an appointment with. She has more patients than she is able to see so she spends her time with the ones in crisis.
None of the primary care drs I’ve had have been comfortable prescribing psych meds. I have always been referred to a specialist, a psych dr. I see a psych dr now and have had to since I was maybe 13 or 14?
It tankes Half a year to get an appointment with a shrink I really dont want to talk to a shrink who I don’t know at all and only know me from a journal. And the House doc Ive dont know me cause we never met.
I dont really want to meet with any health Care worker because they just prescripe the most new and expansive useless meds. While they put it in our own to do the deprescription of because they are afraid of that we go Luna if they in anyway touch or meds.
I get my meds from a pdoc. I do have a cousin that gets her meds from a GP, but they don’t change her psych meds only give a prescription for the pharmacy.
