Does anyone else here struggle to eat?

I’ve been struggling to eat properly for the past few months, like I just don’t see the point. I used to get so excited over food but now when I put it into my mouth, it just doesn’t taste the same. To be honest, the only reason I eat now is because I live with my parents and if I skip a meal, they keep nagging at me until I do eat something. Or they start being over-dramatic and saying I’ll end up like my friend who nearly died from anorexia.

Anyway, does anyone else here struggle with eating, or even eating ‘normally’ ?

Even on rare days when I do have a good appetite, the guilt I feel after eating makes me regret eating at all and it’s just not an enjoyable experience. :frowning:

I can relate. I’m still struggling not to get sick when I eat

Well, I have recently re-started Abilify and now I just feel soo hungry all the time but when I get the food I don’t want to eat a lot… but I am constantly hungry? Do you get that?

Omg yes I get that sometimes! For example, if I feel really hungry with cravings I’ll go to the supermarket, buy a bunch of munchies but then once I get home I just stare at it and don’t feel hungry anymore :joy:

My problem is that I like to eat too much. Last night I fixed myself a big pot of spaghetti and ate it all. Afterwards I was sorry because I was too full. I had all that food in my belly.

Sorry you’re going through this, Jess.

I don’t have that problem. Dieting is getting a little easier, though.

I think my metformin is getting to be too much again, though, as I get sick if I don’t eat within 3.5 hours of breakfast.

Yes,

I understand.

When I was younger, I struggled with that, a lot.

Everything tasted stale and I would forget to eat all the time.

Pretty sure it was a mix of an existing eating disorder and my psychosis.

Voices kept calling me fat and bringing everything I ate (or thought about eating) into question for so long that I managed to make myself disgusted with food.

It was super unhealthy.

You just need to scan through some food porn type websites, find one freaking thing that looks good, and make it.

I found that if I put the effort into preparing the meal myself, I was more likely to eat it and enjoy it.

Make it something healthy so you don’t get sick or make yourself feel bad, but sneak some calories in there for sure.

Use butter, you know?

Sorry @Jesspresso,

You’ll find joy in food again,

God knows I have…
