Does anybody use offline GPS apps ? (I.e. not google maps)

I ended up in the middle of town in a car with an elderly relative who was driving and we took a wrong turn. No problem I thought and fired up my offline gps app to get us back to safety.

The problem was it had been updated about 10 times since I last used it and now it was showing 3d views etc etc etc and it was a struggle to use (just when I needed it).

So I’ve downloaded another one and it seems like it would do a better job for those emergency situations.

Does anyone else use offline GPS sat nav apps ? What would you recommend?

Would waze qualify?? That’s a good one.

I use Waze all the time.

I use waze. It’s pretty straightforward and it tells you when there are obstacles on the road (broken down cars, police, etc.)

One time waze told me a cop was ahead and someone flashed their high beams at me I waived and said “thanks for that”. And then I passed the cop. Lol.

I just did a quick bit of checking and waze is not offline you need an internet connection. Pity. I want something I can use without a data connection. Good suggestion though.

Ok. I think I’m going to settle on this one. It seems to do what I want.
