I take 40 in the morning and 40 mg at night. I forgot my am dose and I have really bad acid reflux. Do you think I can take another 40 for my night dose? I tried to ask the 24 hour pharmacies and they’re closed
I take famotidine right now. I have super acid reflux. How it going
Just one dose of pantoprazole in the morning. I was warned not to double up for a missed dose by both my doctor and the pharmacy.
Ok. Thanks for letting me know @anon82948922
@roxanna im having a flare up but hopefully once I get my next dose in the morning I’ll be fine. I did take my dose for before dinner but it wasn’t enough to calm it down after missing my dose from before breakfast
@LilyoftheValley I used to take Prototonix twice a day until I was advised to scale back to once a day. Pepcid AC Maximum Strength helps me on top of that. The side effect that I am trying to avoid from Prototonix is brittle bones. I am almost 47 though and trying to avoid that.
Ok. As long as you’re ok.
Yeah. I’m going to switch to once a day somehow. It’s just that y acid reflux is so bad my dr said I could get other problems by not treating it
I recently went off them after about 6 weeks of 40mg in the morning. My pack ran out. So now I’ve been about 1 week without it and doing fine so far.
It’s a good idea to watch what you eat though. You should avoid things with a lot of acid obviously. Coffee, soft drinks and alcohol were really bad for me, especially coffee. Wheat is not a good idea either.
During the last couple of months I’ve been mostly eating bananans, oats, yoghurt, smoothies(not citrus fruits) and nuts except for dinner. Dinner I just try to not have it too spicy and make sure the food is at least somewhat moist since dry food wasn’t good for me either. And I switched cow milk for soy and almond milk.
There are some herbs that I think have been useful for me that you could try like for example slippery elm and tulsi. Slippery elm can help rebuild the lining of the stomach while tulsi can lower stomach acid naturally and rebuild mucus. In fact it can help against a host of other things as well. It’s one of the most powerful herbs out there. You should check it out.
It can also be helpful to take a teaspoon of honey after each meal to soothe the digestive tract.
Thanks for the tips @Mr_Hope.
A while back I changed my diet and I still had really bad acid reflux. My mom is the same way. She eats very mild foods and has terrible acid reflux. I hadn’t heard about those herbs so I’ll look into them
