Does anybody know?

I hear sarcosine is good for negative symptoms of sz/sza. But, does anyone know how it affects mood in those with sza disorder? I’m afraid to try it not knowing how it might affect my mood.

In higher doses, it made me kind of hyper and unable to sleep. I didn’t go manic, though. But every brain is different. If you decide to try it, I recommend telling your doctor so they can closely monitor you for any changes.

The directions recommend starting with 1/2 g once a day for a few days, then slowly increasing by 1/2 g until you’re on an effective dose for you. I just take 1 g in the morning. Some folks take as much as 2 g twice a day.

Are your negative symptoms a lot better? Can you easily make yourself do things @Ninjastar?

I wouldn’t say it’s easy, but I can accomplish the things I need to. I even shower every day, now.

For me, it’s less like a miracle cure. But it helps me see my chores as simply unpleasant, rather than completely impossible.

You shower everyday now??? That’s simply amazing! If I could get myself to do that I would consider it a miracle @Ninjastar.

Hahaha it helps that Mr. Star won’t let me into the bed if I stink. But I used to just say whatever and sleep in the guest bed. Now, it matters to me whether I stink or not. I can’t stand smelling bad.

Wow, that’s great! What a difference @Ninjastar ! I might just go ahead and try sarcosine then. With the help of my pdoc.

I gotta go to the kitchen and get some dinner for myself. Thanks for your time and advice and catch you later.

Sounds good, more energy could only be a good thing for me. Think I’ll try it next month when I have more money.
