I was wondering how well they work. I ordered one while it was on sale on Amazon for an additional joint Christmas present for my mom and dad but don’t know how well they work. I still have time to cancel the order so…
Here is the one I ordered if it makes a difference:
eufy by Anker, RoboVac G30, Robot Vacuum with Smart Dynamic Navigation 2.0, 2000Pa Strong Suction, Wi-Fi, Compatible with Alexa, Carpets and Hard Floors
I have one but bluetooth and it was before they were released in North America long time ago. Got it from China AliExpress. It seems that China get new tech before us. Thats the case with vapes too. It still works well but mine doesn’t spray water , I have to wet the tissue on the bottom of the robot vaccum. New ones spray water automatically. I used it a lot when I lived alone for a few years. My father now like to use it.
I have the eufy. It works okay, but we have one with the spin brushes, and they keep falling off and getting lost. If I had to do it again, I would buy one without those. Otherwise, it is amazing. I hate the noise of the vacuum, so this runs when im out of the house and I come back to clean floors. We do still have to manually clean bigger messes, and do a more intensive floor clean one a month, but it is great for basic maintenance. If you dont care about aesthetics, you can buy pool noodles from the dollar store to wedge under the couch or chair rungs, so it doesn’t get stuck.
I have zero idea if this one has “spin brushes” or not. Would you recommend getting a different model @Ninjastar ? It was a “black friday” deal and was pretty cheap so I hate to go with a different model unless necessary. The specs say it includes “2 side brushes” if that’s what you are referring to.
The side brushes, yeah. If it was significantly cheaper, stick with it. Ours was also a black friday deal like 2 or 3 years ago and still works well enough. The replacement brushes were only like $20 and we only needed to replace them once.
A word of warning and a funny story. A friend of mine had one a few years ago. Their dog had pooped on the floor while they were gone. The robot came out and did its usual routine, smearing dog poop all around the house in the process. She put the robot in the garage that night but neglected to turn it off, so the next day it ran and smeared the remains around the garage as it hunted for its dock. So…yeah take that for what it’s worth lol
Mr. Star says he actually just threw out the side brushes because they don’t do much and it runs better without them. But yeah, it’s perfectly functional.
It’s seems like my sister had mentioned something like that happening with hers as well. Smearing something all over. I think it may have been dog doo as well. I probably should call her and ask her opinion but I didn’t want to get her cell number from my parents and have them ask why I was calling her.
That’s definitely a bonus. My parents have a robot, they like it, though it does hang itself up on objects sometimes, but the technology just keeps getting better.
