Does anyone else surf the web trying to find out more about your illness? I look up stuff about my Schizophrenia all the time.
I used to, when it was new to me.
These days i can’t be bothered
After being on here for a year its pretty safe to say I am a pro anyway.
Sometimes I google symptoms or look up definitions and statistics.
My doctor told me not to look for illness or symptoms on Google. He said Google is not 100% reliable.
In the beginning of my illness, I was obsessed with googling schizophrenia. Now not anymore.
Yea i used to be.
Got over it eventually though
I just googled schizophrenia earlier today.
Yes, it has to be a complete sentence
I google everything about sza or about other things not related to sza.
Me too @FatMama
Ya I go through phases of it
Just the fun stuff about it.
I google stats on schizophrenia and meds and alternative therapies quite often. At the moment researching abilify due to a med change
If I do, it’s rare, and I’m searching for peer-reviewed articles. I usually get my info from y’all. I often ask for research because I like to know where things come from (I may not be able to find the same source on Google), and if y’all don’t know where something came from or if I don’t ask for the info, I try to find it myself. But again- peer-reviewed articles only (okay, and dictionary.com).
I research bipolar, schizoaffective and schizophrenia online and I will also do research on meds.
I have read a lot. Before I became ill, I was on the path to becoming a psychiatrist. I was a third year medical student. Once ill I wanted to find answers. I had this dream or fantasy for many years that I could figure things out and help move thinking along to finding a cure. It was also my prayer. I think everyone who works hard on this illness is in some way contributing to the ultimate cure. Its a belief. You may not see it that way.
