Do you watch/read the news?

I’m thinking of cutting back on the news or cutting it out. I don’t like hearing bad news every day. Also I noticed I don’t feel that bad about bad things that happen to people probably because I don’t know them but if it was someone I knew personally I’d feel bad for them.

I don’t find them interesting. Usually they repeat the same stuff over and over again.

I have about 26 RSS news feeds. So I’m constantly aware of what’s happening.

Fortunately I only have to read headlines. I can choose to read the article attached to a headline if I want.

Ya I noticed they do that. They repeat stories all day and sometimes for days.

I read the headlines of an unbiased independent news source, and skim an article here and there.

This keeps me up to date but not involved.

I try my best to avoid it because it’s depressing.

They need a news outlet that focuses only on positive things. So you have a choice between 2 different types of news.

I sometimes watch the BBC news at 6 and occasionally buy a Daily mirror newspaper.

I don’t and my wife does. She gets upset when I won’t sit and watch the news with her.

This is the downside of presenting normally.

I have a subscription on a Belgian Financial Newspaper.

That way I stay on top of the main economic and political news.
