I want to get one, I think it would help with benzo withdrawal, and anxiety and insomnia. I suffer from severe insomnia. From what I read on reddit, many people benefit from them.
What do you think?

Just my experience I hate weighted blankets.
Makes it too hard to get out of bed in the morning !!
I have wanted one for a long time but they are so expensive
I got Mr LED one for his birthday and 5 years ago. It really helped him. But I hated it. I just felt trapped. I didn’t like it at all.
Not a weighted blanket, but a really heavy Mexican blanket, basically the same effect for a quarter of the price
I hope I don’t have that issue!
…From what I’ve read, it seems like sleep could improve in terms of quality and duration. I often feel panicky before sleeping. Some anecdotal evidence I found online has generally pointed to multiple people saying they can really quell anxiety.
With anxiety and depression, ptsd, and symptoms of benzo withdrawal, as I understand it, you get stressed out because you can’t handle the stimulation, which benzos (etc.) block due to their actions on the “gaba” neurotransmitter system… ![]()
To recover from benzo withdrawal, you’ve got to slowly allow your brain to “heal” from that stress. In the meantime, insomnia and panic attacks…well…yeah.

My argument summarized:
-It feels like constant hug or human touch
-It (arguably) balances key neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine
-I truly believe that it’s like a magic bullet for anxiety
This is the one I want:
How so?
I’ll check on Canadian amazon
I need 20lbs. 151515
Prices aren’t that good in Canada
My blankets are weighted in the sense that i have two duvets on top of me - i like the “heavy” feeling - it makes me feel safer. Downside is i sweat in bed in summer. And im 6 foot 6 - so having two over me covers the feet up as well!
My autistic daughter has one. I used it once and loved it. Felt so secure.
Like the weighted lead apron at the dentist?
Never saw one of those.
My sister can’t sleep without one.
I got one a couple years ago from sensa calm. They’re expensive but I love it.
How does it help?
I like the feeling of pressure. It’s like having tons of quilts on without as much heat.
I tried one and it made me feel trapped and suffocated
My new weighted blanket just came in the mail. It is 15 lbs. (You need 15 lbs. for a 130 to 170 lb. person. 20 lbs. for a 200 to 250 lb. person, I read.)
Anyway, I love it. It helps me to fall asleep. It also makes me feel secure.
@Anon10, Thanks for turning me on to this. I might want to get this one for my bed. The other one is for my sofa.
