Do you think the gym would be good for my osteoarthritis?

I was thinking I was going to tag along with a friend when he goes to the gym. Every doctor wants me to get up and exercise. I remember one of my mom’s friends telling her you need to get up and move around. Just sitting in the chair is going to make it worse.

I am walking a half mile now, but don’t know if strength training in the gym would help.

The gym can help you. Water aerobics or water exercises are good for osteoarthritis too.

You can save $$$ by doing calisthenics at home. Yoga or tai chi will also help with keeping joints flexible. Can also be done cheaply at home.

Gee, I tried asking Siri what’s my BMI, and he referred me to the health app. This iPhone is registering how much I’m walking and told me I’m not walking as much this week as I did last week.

Thanks @anon82948922 That’s an idea.

I bet getting a nice mat for stretches would be good for you.

I have a couple forms of arthritis. Strength training helped take the strain off my bones by building muscle to do more work. I felt 100% better when training at the gym
