A lot of people are illiterate in America. I mean a lot according to the statistics.

I’d say almost all my friends have some college education and the majority of them obtained a degree.

I looked it up 54% of adults has a college degree in the US. In Belgium 47% of adults have a higher degree.

Maybe they have a degree in USA. But what is the quality of what they have been taught ? I hear americans like to twist history to suit them.

There seems to be a stigma over here in the Uk, that if your living in a Trailer Park in the US, that you are un-enducated and “trailer trash”.

I dont believe it, its just the housing needs are different

I guess the bigger question is how much they got indebted for their degree.

I think Belgium is one of the last countries where it is still tradition for parents to pay for the higher education of their children.

Some do, but I am not allowed to specify who. It’s a real problem that the other half of us are trying to combat.

Like any country the USA has its mix of very intelligent people(not all of whom will be highly educated) and those who are far from intelligent (who should be given as much help and support as possible).

My experience is that those who are very intelligent usually need more support…

They get less social support and tend to be lonely outliers.

I agree. I am indebted for attempting to obtain higher education. Sz robbed me of this chance. I’m bitter.

Sz can hit the hardest during university age (like twenties), and that happened to me unfortunately.

I would like to finish my education but I have too much debt already

I think some do get a little desperate in wanting to know other people who are very intelligent. That’s based on my experience with the FB high IQ community. The average person isn’t rushing to ask me to be a FB friend. They tend to not like me very much. The vast majority of friend requests I get are from those within the high IQ community. They see beyond my social ineptitude.
