Do you think I could be a peer support worker?

It’s not a job thats very in demand… as peer support workers are a new thing here in the UK… I tried applying to two of them but I got no responce… Not sure if I am cut out for this kind of work anyway but worth a try !

I think you would do well in that position. But I believe they want someone who has been out of hospital a bit longer than 3 months.

Yeah however it’s not likely I will get anything soon, but I contacted a place I applied for before and they are talking about some sort of people strategy program that they pay for as and when

I think this sounds really cool. Perhaps in the future you will be able to get into it.

They said it will open up the opportunity to know about future vacancies with peer support.

I think that is something like a paid proffesional friend to some people with special needs I would do it, it’s sounds like a great job.

I’m pretty sure that a peer support worker should have an outgoing personality and they should have lots of experience spending time in psych hospitals.
Not sure though.
My brothers girl friends brother is a peer support worker.
Not sure what his experience is though.
