Do you think antidepressants are an option?

I think I am going downhill again after having the dose reduced.

I might go private to be seen sooner. I’m not very happy I’m exhausted have not had much sleep and I felt really like i wanted to scream and shout

What exactly do you feel?

I needed antidepressants at one stage as well, but my pdoc didn’t want to give them - he just put me on a second antipsychotic (olanzapine) which he says also acts as an antidepressant. For me it worked in low dose along with my usual antipsychotic (amisulpride).

Hope you feel better soon, Ish!

AD helped me in several periods of my life. Just be cautious thought, since they can trigger mania in people with bipolar. Perhaps you can try wellbutrin, which doesn’t commonly trigger mania. It can also help you lose weight and quit smoking if you’re trying to accomplish either of those.

Antidepressants can make someone with bipolar symptoms Manic.

You might need to be on a Mood Stabilizer - Lithium, Depakote, Tegretol, Lamictal etc…

Go talk with a psychiatrist ASAP - Best of luck @anon80629714

The problem is I find it hard to catch my manic episodes. I seriously feels it’s just depression

Yeah, when we’re depressed we feel like we only get depression. When we’re manic we think we’re just with a good mood.

Lamictal is a mood stabilizer that helps with depression, it rarely causes Mania - I am going back on it for my depression.

It might be a good option for you.

Talk to your pdoc about it.

I searched for lamictal, and it says it can boost side effects if you’re taking risperidal at the same time. Be careful @Wave

Yeah I’ll look into it @Minnii - Thanks!

Why was your dose reduced?
If now suddenly you’re doing worse, tell the doc and get back on what you were taking.

It might be a sign you just need more ability again. Good luck with whatever option you choose.
