For those of you guys diagnosed with diabetes type 2, do you test and monitor your blood glucose levels at home with a meter?
I have a glucose meter at home but rarely test myself.
I plan to do more testing.
Just tested myself earlier and my blood glucose level was 215.
Not very healthy.
I’ve been eating lots of sugary foods and high carb foods lately.
No I don’t. I just get hb1ac blood tests every year.
My dad has type 2 and he tests himself everyday, sometimes multiple times in a day. It used to be really bad before he figured out some food that he can make that is low-carb. He’s very cautious with food. I think his blood sugar level is usually between 100-150.
I bought a glucose meter yesterday, my Dr told me bcz he said my blood glucose is high and very close to diabetic. I take Metformin and I only recently turned 30. You get the glucose meter for free with the purchase of 100 strips.
Honestly I bought mine from China through AliExpress for 25$CAD, all the kit with 100 strips.
I may call my GP doctor.
215 is very high.
