Do you tend to take things personally?

I feel like I do.

I know I’m not supposed to, but for whatever reasons it’s really hard for me not to.

I think I’m getting better at it though. More and more I’m having the realization that I’m taking something personally that I shouldn’t be.

I used to quite a lot. Not really now though.

I’m in the same boat. I think a lot of people are. But like yourself, I notice it happening now and try to manage it a little better.

Still room for improvement though

Sometimes I take things personally, I tell myself I shouldn’t but sometimes I do, I’m working on it.

I had to look up the definition of taking things personally
Taking things personally is a sign of low self-esteem. When you take things personally , you might be sensitive to the words or actions of others or you interpret things in a negative way. Perhaps someone says something which you take as an insult or you assume a person doesn’t like you if they walk past without saying hello.

I have to avoid certain people because they affect me negatively, in some important respects. I do not know why it is for sure, but it feels like they do not understand me much at all and it hurts so I tend to avoid.
to stop the hurting. and the stress, in addition to that.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding them, but perhaps not and so to avoid the chance of drama which I cannot deal with, I just avoid.

Some may call it ideas of reference, perhaps it is, perhaps not,

basically, it just ■■■■■ up with my mind so best to avoid

I try not to, but I often do.
I tend to take any negative interaction as rejection, or signs of an impending rejection.
And my reasonning for that is I’m not good enough.
