This is, I think, very helpful for a lot of people here. There is life after diagnosis and you can live a productive life.

I was first diagnosed at age 45, however I may have had my first episode 10 years or so ago, I didn’t know what it was, it was when my mother passed away, and I was diagnosed with depression instead.

I hae always had stressful work managing large projects. I’m considering a career change or to ‘slow down’ a bit. I also bike 100 miles per week, I’m wondering if biking and job stress is triggering it now.

I’m adopted, and I was told my biological mother had schizophrenia, I am not sure as I have never met or found her. I have volunteered for a research study with the National Institutes of Health.
