My family says my room does too. It’s becoming a problem and pissing me off. My mom has a nose of a bloodhound and it’s not fair. I rarely see my dad. I know I smell, but other things smell too like our dog and we aren’t the cleanest type of people around. I have no where else to turn or go so I better start cleaning up more. I just took out my trash. I think it’s my smoking and my clothes and shoes mainly. It hurts my feelings and I don’t want any more problems than I already have.
One of the best things you can do to keep your room smelling good is to wash your dirty laundry frequently. Bed sheets especially.
I know motivation to wash a bunch of clothes can be difficult to muster up. I struggle a lot with this. Frebreeze as mentioned is a good temporary fix until you have the time and energy. Opening windows is great too if the weather permits.
I told my son that his bedroom had a smell to it that reminded me of his father when I first met his father. My son was freaked out by what I told him and that was only a few weeks before his death by suicide. And yes, I feel responsible. In so many ways.
I voted no smell. I shower often and keep my room clean. My pipe smoking doesn’t help things so I am always lighting an incense stick. Maybe try incense OP?
Smokers smell extremely gross to non-smokers. Most of you don’t understand just how bad.
The other issue is that most of you have wrecked your sense of smell so badly that you could stand next to a decomposing corpse for five minutes before noticing the odor. That means if you are personally funky, there’s a good chance you don’t realize how strong your smell is.
When Starlet was having hygiene issues, I just started turning off the WiFi until he cleaned his room and showered every day. I think your parents are being exceptionally patient with you. Remember: they have to live in their house too, and they deserve to feel comfortable in it.
If my armpits smell I wash them with soap at the bathroom sink and dry with a towel, takes maybe 1-2 minutes total. No need to use a sponge.
If my t-shirt starts smelling from sweat, I wash my back and front at the sink with soap, and put on a clean t shirt. Again takes maybe 1 minute.
I use the traditional alkaline soap, not liquid soap, because with the former you’ll know as soon as you’ve washed away the soap - the skin is no longer slippery. With a liquid soap it will remain slippery even after the soap has been washed away.
This is how I get away with minimum effort and time spent, without having to shower for months and still not stink.
frequent showers, baby wipes in the pits and other creases in between showers to freshen up daily, change your clothes everyday, brush your teeth morning and night, keep dirty dishes out of your room, take trash out everyday, wash your blankets and sheets, do laundry often, keep the animals out of your room, febreeze the curtains if they can’t be taken down and washed, no smoking inside or smoke by open window. You’ll be smelling like a rosebud in no time. And yes, I do stink if I don’t take a bath every other day and get clean clothes on, most people do, they may think they don’t, but they do.
