I pay rent to my parents. Their house is paid off so I’m not sure how I fit into the poll but I put yes.

Well paying rent is paying rent. I used to live with my mom, and she felt bad about letting me pay her something, so the majority of the time I didn’t.

I probably made up for it though when she was in the nursing home eight years, and I was buying her stuff she needed and driving to see her. Every last dime she had went to the nursing home.

That’s strange.

Not really. We own two homes we’re renting. We’re waiting to see what happens with my wife’s contract where we are currently before buying a home here. We’re hoping she can move to full work-from-home, in which case we’re moving into a town in the Canadian Rockies. She currently has to work in the office one day a week. That’s why we’re renting our own place at the moment. We can afford to buy, we just don’t want to get tied down to a house here if we’re not staying for more than the next year.

Thanks @77nick77 @SkinnyMe. I guess it’s on my mind because I pay my rent today.

Living with my mom. I have just enough to pay for my smokes and food.

Thanks Newlyborn.

Im lower type of disability allowance and expect to get higher one within a year, so ill get around 300€ a month, which is like working 30hours a week in my country, so even after my moms inevitable death i will be able to sustain myself. I take every action to save money, buy cheap tobacco, dont go to restaurants or cafes, no cinemas, eat cheap home made food. I take every precaution to save my items like phone or pc, not to get viruses or physically damage them, i take quick shower every couple days, buy knock off sodas for pennies

I’m glad you will eventually be able to take care of yourself. My mom actually did a good thing having me involuntarily admitted to the hospital, as that lead to me getting disability payments and help finding low-income housing to live in.

Oh i see, my mom wont ever kick me out for a reason that she cares too much for me. Even though i was really harsh on her while psychotic and she suspected that i got ill of drugs at first, there was some abuse involved from her side, but we are in a fresh page. Now she actually even buys me drinks, even energy drinks, crisps and even sometimes cigarettes. I dont drini at all, so there is no issues on that field.

I was pretty harsh on my mom too because I was unmedicated and wouldn’t take meds. She had had enough of it.

I pay rent to my father and also for water and elictricity.

When I lived with my mom, I finally told her what was I working for if she wouldn’t take my money for room & board. After I said that she started taking a minimal amount each month.

Yeah i know what you mean, i tried to go off meds alsi and it didnt end up well. Now im taking meds, even upped med dosage without consultation

No i get full Housing Benefit for my 1 bed council flat. Its about 130 quid a week.

Cos of covid - my council tax bills been paid as well - but its only been £120 for the year anyway.

I think only one person actually pays rent here - cos shes working at the holiday camp.

They seemed to have bunged us all fruitcakes together - Theres 2 bipolars, one clinical depression - and im the only Sz lol.
