Do you pace when you're restless?

I get accused of this all the time by my staff and they even write it in my running records, when I’m not even feeling restless. I just like to pace.

Yes, I pace when I’m feeling amped up or overwhelmed

It helps calm things down

I talk to myself when I’m restless

I rock back and forth in a recliner to help me calm down.

I pace and I also make irritated movements with my hands.

i pace a lot too. it helps make me calm

I sometimes pace while I smoke. Not a need actually, more like an old habit from the times I had akathisia. Can totally control myself now. I’m rarely restless. If I sit on a chair for too long, I start shaking my right leg up and down. That’s understandable. It’s unhealthy to be motionless except during sleep.

I pace my house pretty much the whole day. It’s funny, when my 4-year old nephew was here for Christmas, he noticed me pacing and asked, “Why are you walking in circles?”

Good question, little man. I didn’t have a good answer lol kinda caught me off guard that he noticed it

I used to pace up and down but don’t anymore.

I pretty much do what Audrey does. I never really paced but had bad akathisia on invega and would kinda wobble from side to side while standing. I was always shaking my feet or bouncing my leg. It’s not so bad anymore though I still move my feet around or bounce my leg.

yes i get told to “stop pacing” but sometimes i dont pace either and just sit still for hours and hours. and sometimes i pace but i sit still more than i pace lately. i feel no need to move lately

I pace. A lot. Is this a stim?

I remember pacing a lot in the psychiatric unit. It was horrible to be honest. Like I was not in control of my own body. I really wanted to relax and calm down but I could not.

Used to do it when I was psychotic.
