IDK @san_pedro .
How’s the weather where you are?
What are you having for dinner?
Lately I’m only capable of small talk.
No. I don’t like small talk at all. I think it is pointless.
I like small talk as long as it doesn’t take to long. I don’t like conversations where it is a competition to be as normal as possible.
Yes, I prefer it. I don’t have a lot of space where I live right now and big conversations take up too much room in my condo.
I suck at small talk unless it’s with someone I’ve known for a while.
I like it, if it’s not all there is.
It’s a good way to build a sense of trust with someone and discover things you have in common.
Sometimes the deeper convos can spring from smalltalk.
Say I meet a coworker by the coffee machine. I comment on their coffee, and they say they didn’t get much sleep. I jokingly ask if they spent the night gaming, they say they read a book. I ask which one, they mention it, I ask what books they like or if they like those kinds of books…
Suddenly we’ve talked for 20 minutes about scifi novels.
Boom.
Just went from casual smalltalk to making a new aquaintance.
Small talk for sure. Hello. Goodbye.
Real small
I prefer big talk
I Ask my friends how are you etc
But we are just silly.
I like a variety. A little small talk, a little joking around, a little seriousness.
