on television. there are a lot of them, i briefly watched ‘law and order’ as well as ‘walker, texas ranger’ when i was younger. my dad would watch them in the living room mostly and i subjected myself to it.
i wonder if the protests will put an end to the cool cop persona portrayed on these shows. all my adult life, i’ve always seen it as a bit of propaganda, but whatever, i don’t like them. notice they are all on the major networks. it’s like the least creative idea for a show you can have. people eat them up like singing competitions. and there is always a new one.
but some people like them, mostly on tv. i watch news, cartoons, ancient aliens, and a bit of sports. i could probably get by without a tv, just fine.
I’ve never really enjoyed cop shows all that much. I’ve always been more into science fiction and fantasy. Basically all I watch is Star Trek, Forged in Fire, and historical shows
I use to watch cop shows on tv but stopped. I don’t really watch tv much anymore and I prefer video games. I feel tv shows can be a bit too dramatic and inaccurate, and I have a mental illness where I tend to apply fiction to reality, even when some tv shows clearly state beforehand that the material is fictional and not accurate.
I like watching actual cop footage on youtube sometimes. They can be a bit graphic though. I’m religious so I believe in the existence of criminals and their demise. I like seeing the demise of criminals, but without fictional fluff. Some cops can be corrupted. Heck, some cops can be part of big street gangs. But I feel the local governments are structured such that cops aren’t too powerful.
I like the original Law and Order. I like a movie or tv series that can make ordinary people seem poignant, and also diabolical. The writers of this series definitely believe in unredeemable evil. One thing I liked about the series MASH was how they created a very realistic replica of an army hospital during the Korean War. You can almost smell the moldy canvas.
yeah i remember they were going to shoot a season in cincinnati, but there was pushback from the community so they cancelled filming ‘cops’ in cincinnati.
