My family doctor wanted me to discuss my prolactin levels with my psychiatrist.
According to my recent blood test my prolactin levels went up a bit, from about 25 to now 31.
Do you guys know what your prolactin levels are?
Is 31 or 32 a high number?
Do you think my pdoc will take action over these numbers?
Normal prolactin levels for males are between 2 to 18.
My level of 31 is high but I was wondering if it’s considered to be at a dangerous level.
High enough the my pdoc could do something about it.
If they checked my prolactin levels they never told me. When it came to that and weight the pdoc barely cared. When my man breasts grew I was told about a type of shirt to wear to hide them some. I never received a drug for my weight until I developed diabetes and that was from my GP. I know my prolactin levels have to be high but there’s little I can do about it. All my pdocs generally cared about were if I were stable. Latuda reversed it and I briefly became an actual man for a time but the drug ultimately failed so now I’m more or less a freak of nature again.
I am on Amisulpride 800mg a day. I am at risk of high prolactin. My GP didn’t bother to check in my annual check up, but the CMHT are doing a physical for me next Monday, so I will find out then
I will be very disappointed if I have to change meds again.
