High prolactin

I went to an endo visit and I found out that my prolactin level is 140ng/ml (normal is 42).

I’ve been on the same medication for 4 years now. I also take medications for hypothyroidism and adrenal insufficiency.

I told my doctor that I take an antipsychotic but my doctor thinks this is due to something of the pituitary gland because the level is so high.

I really like the medications I’m on and it would be devastating if I had to change it with something else…

Does anyone experience the same problem?

I’m basically on the same meds and my prolactin level is thru the roof at almost 400. But my meds work so I refuse to change.

In hospital they added amisulpiride to my clozapine but they took me off it because of high prolactin which is a shame because it worked well for me

I heard anti psychotics cause high prolactin levels. I would get a second opinion from another doctor. Seems like its a side effect of all of them

Thanks Sherlock I needed a break from Internet to not focus on illness so much. Kinda worked.

I’m on amisulpride which increased my prolactin levels. One pdoc wanted to try take me off of it but it’s the best med for me so I am still on it.
