I believe the first clubhouse opened in New-York.

There are a few of them in france.

Every member participate in the management of the clubhouse. There are a few social worker who motivate everyone.

So you develop certain skills that you will be able to apply in a future job.

I am a member of one but I don’t often go because it’s always crowded which makes me anxious

Ok I understand. Do you have other opportunities to socialize?

There some of these where I’m from. I have only been to a guided tour as my first visit, but never been there after.

The one I was a member of only allows people on Medicaid and they bill Medicaid for their services. I used to find the number of 15 minute increments each member was there for so we could bill Medicaid for every 15 minutes a member spent there.

It was a true Clubhouse and is listed as one on the Clubhouse International website.

Anyone else’s Clubhouse bill Medicaid???

I’m the president of the executive board of my local clubhouse, Northern Hope Center. I like going there and hanging out with friends and eating free breakfast and lunch. It’s a good place for me.
