Genuine Normie-A term I just invented for people who look and dress like they’re crazy or a little eccentric, out of the norm, but then their genuine personality couldn’t be more sober, sane and ordinary.

There’s this girl at my work who is a “genuine normie” she dresses like she has 3 different colors in her hair but then her personality is so not crazy…

Sorry I know this shouldn’t be bothering me but it is…Lol it’s something I need to work on. Accepting the normies…!!! I have trouble to accept them?

All I know is the “genuine normies” really threw me off during psychosis.

I would call those eccentric normies. It’s eccentric to dress and be like that even with a normal personality.

I called them genuine Normie’s because their genuine self is Normal, their physical appearance seems irregular. lol I thought I was being clever

I actually don’t think I even know anyone, besides a few family members that I don’t know well, that isn’t mentally ill. :thinking:

How do you know she’s actually a “normie?” Maybe she’s just doing a good job hiding it.

A friend of mine from high school is. She is 49. She dresses pretty funky and her hair is a different colour every month. This month it’s purple. I love her style. I admire her. She has so many friends and is so kind to everyone! She leads a perfectly happily married housewife life!

Just like gay people have gaydar, I believe schizophrenic people have psychosisdar :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Lol jk you’re right but I’ve met like 1000 people with psychosis in my life and this girl gives me a different feel.

I have never met a single normal person in my entire life. Even the cheerleading captain/prom queen who taught me how to apply makeup would secretly thrash to death metal and cry about how much she could tell everyone hated her. People only appear normal until you get to know them. Deep down, everyone is just a beautiful freak!

In my experience I tend to find that once I know a ‘normie’ well enough it becomes clear that they aren’t one. The people I’ve known who don’t seem to have had any problems are only those I haven’t known well enough to actually discover whether they’ve had them

I do know lots of people like that.

Most individuals, despite how boring or normal, crave some sort of individuality.

For women, its usually about standing apart or getting attention, thus three hair colors.

I have two hair colors, if grey counts.

See, I can be normal(ish).

Its also worth adding,

You don’t know that girl very well.

She could be super crazy.

Not like us crazy, but maybe “if you don’t respond to my text within 45 seconds I’ll cry and break up with you, then beg for you to come back” crazy.

Which is also unpleasant.

So, no judgments, right?

OK fine no judgments. I didn’t think it was that such a big deal to make a judgment that was mostly a joke. No one on this board gets sarcasm/joke tone. We need a sarcasm/humor button…
