i do,
they are alot quieter than they used to be but they are still there, i feel like there are different types of voices like some people will say they have voices in their head but to them it doesn’t sound like they are actually hearing voices like they can easily tell them apart from reality from the start, for me the voices sound pretty realistic it is like i am actually hearing them like i can even hear where they come from it is usually from wherever white noise is coming from it is weird because i know its just my mind
Maybe it’s just a misperception of external noise,
And there’s not like 2 of you in your head
what do u mean by a “misperception of external noise” it is just hallucinations because meds have made them quieter
I agree with you sigarino. I categorized mine to keep everything organized. I think that’s why I do pretty ok sometimes. When everyone starts making noise at the same time that’s when I lose it. And I’m petrified of outside voices/sounds.
I hear them inside my head, or sometimes interlaced with other sounds in the world around me (like birds chirping, I ******* hate birds. Harbingers of misery, those ************* are), but most often I almost “feel” the voices. It’s almost like synesthesia, very difficult to explain. The voices in the world around me tend to be the most hostile, vicious, and downright merciless. But always very subtly so. Like shards of psychological shrapnel exploding towards my mind, as though it’s somehow conscious and wants me to go mad.
But I’m finally learning to just tune those ■■■■■■■■■■■■■ out. (:
I rarely if ever hear auditory voices. I heard them more often when I was a little kid but pretty much never anymore unless I am like half asleep and that’s just hypnogogic.
However I do get voices regularly, but they are telepathic and are like thoughts that come from somewhere else and not me. It’s officially classified as thought insertion rather than a hallucination.
You mean the medical world acknowledges that telepathy is real?!
Now I’ve heard everything…
Just because they are not technically classified as hallucinations does not mean they are real. They’re still your brain messing with you.
I don’t think she meant that telepathy is real but only that her voices ‘bypass her ears’.
Lots of us schizo folk hear voices I guess.
What is interesting, is that when we speak to regular folk, they often can’t hear us.
They can’t hear our real voices, but instead just hear what they want to hear.
And @Andrey Look up thought insertion. It’s a psychotic symptom where the person doesn’t recognize thoughts as their own but thinks they come from somewhere else. A psychologist told me this.
I know what it is, I just wanted to tell you that it’s not telepathy. Maybe it won’t help, but I just thought I’d tell you anyway. I’ve been a bit worried about you lately… Hope you don’t mind me saying that.
I know what thought insertion is. I’ve experienced it myself while psychotic. But now that I am stable on meds I reckon it was only a product of my own mind, not telepathy like you made it sound
And @anon9798425 ok just checking. I was just trying to describe it by saying it’s telepathic. I’m doing better lately with sleep so my symptoms are improving but I also got back on an antipsychotic so hopefully that will also help things.
Glad to hear that you’re doing better and you’re back on an AP! Sorry for misunderstanding you.
I also hear voices with my ears. I can tell what direction they’re coming from and everything. But when I cover my ears, they don’t get quieter. White noise makes some of mine worse as well.
I primarily hear sounds like door knocking - door bells - whistling.
I sometimes hear people whispering and am capable of hearing full blown voices when not properly medicated.
Auditory Hallucinations are not so prominent.
Visual Hallucinations on the other hand are a bigger issue for me.
I have been hearing folk in my kitchen, rattling glasses and knocking stuff over.
Visual hallucinations are also the most prominent for me. If I had to list frequency I’d say
- visual which I deal with every day
- tactile which I got every day back when I was full blown psychotic but now it’s maybe only a few times a week if at all.
- auditory which now is once in a blue moon
I dont hear voices
